Amazon Weekly Updates – May 25, 2025
1. Buyer-Seller Messaging Restriction Tightened
Amazon has removed the ability to override Buyer-Seller opt-outs by adding “[Important]” to message subject lines.
You can still contact buyers for order-critical reasons. Marketing or non-essential messages to opt-out buyers will no longer go through.
Amazon is pushing sellers to use their message templates, which:
- Auto-translate into the buyer’s preferred language
- Automatically flag messages as important if applicable
- Include relevant order IDs
PAS Takeaway:
Clean up your communication SOPs. If your customer service team still uses custom messaging, move to Amazon’s templates immediately to avoid violations.
2. Product & Food Safety Compliance Moves to Account Health Dashboard
Starting May 29, all compliance tracking for product and food safety issues will move from “Manage Your Compliance” into the Account Health Dashboard (AHD).
Until July, sellers must check both dashboards to stay ahead of violations.
You’ll now be able to:
- Monitor violations
- Submit compliance documents
- Coordinate with labs and testing providers — all from AHD
PAS Takeaway:
Set dual monitoring alerts now. Don’t wait for July to unify your process — have someone on your team checking both dashboards weekly, especially if you’re in grocery, supplements, or regulated categories.
3. New Features in the Send to Amazon Workflow
Two major improvements just dropped in the Send to Amazon shipment flow:
- You’ll now see Amazon-optimized shipment split suggestions (pallet templates, case packs) upfront
- You’ll also see a total estimated cost (FBA placement fee + carrier estimate) at Step 2 before confirming
For domestic shipments, Amazon will auto-select the lowest-cost method between SPD and LTL based on your shipment.
PAS Takeaway:
Your inventory manager now has more visibility to make smarter decisions. This is especially useful for lean brands trying to control logistics costs without third-party tools.
4. Fee Adjustments for Partnered Carrier Measurement Differences
Starting June 12, Amazon will begin crediting or charging you based on how accurate your shipment dimensions were at the time of booking, only for Partnered Carrier (PCP) shipments in the U.S.
You’ll be able to see measurement discrepancies under: Seller Central → Inbound Performance → Defect Group: Inaccurate Transportation Weight/Dimensions
Overstated dimensions? You get a credit. Understated? Expect a fee charge.
PAS Takeaway:
Time to tighten your measurement workflow. Brands using prep centers or 3PLs should ensure accuracy at the source — these adjustments can eat away at your profit margins if ignored.
Final Word
While these updates don’t sound flashy, they touch the core operating layers of every seller account: communication, compliance, logistics, and cost control.
At PAS, our role isn’t just to manage your ad campaigns — it’s to help you build systems that survive Amazon’s updates and scale past them.
Need help auditing your compliance setup or logistics flow? Let’s talk.
Because “adjustments” like these add up, and margin leaks are real.
